There, you discovered the lost Sanctuary—and a magical artifact that can banish the apocalypse above, restoring daylight for a precious, limited time.

NeverLight is a cooperative roguelite extraction Action-RPG for 1-4 players. Activate the artifact to dispel the apocalyptic darkness and venture onto the demon-haunted surface. As the artifact's power weakens, the demons gradually return to reclaim what belongs to them. Complete your mission, gather vital resources, and reach extraction before the darkness consumes everything—including you.

• SURVIVE THE DAY/NIGHT CYCLE

  The artifact restores daylight and the natural day/night cycle to the demon-ruled surface. Initially lasting only 1 day (~20-30 minutes), upgrade it at your Sanctuary to extend missions to multiple days (~40-60+ minutes). Explore during sunlit day, survive demon-infested nights when the artifact offers no protection, and extract before the apocalypse storm returns with a shrinking safe zone.

• UNIQUE CHARACTER CLASSES

  6+ character classes planned, each with 4 active ability slots, permanent skill tree progression that unlocks new abilities, diverse weapon types with dual weapon sets switchable mid-combat, 6 consumable slots, and full gear customization with weapons, rings, amulets, and talismans featuring rarity tiers and randomized affixes.

• SINS — TEMPORARY POWER

  Collect up to 7 Sins during each run—powerful temporary upgrades that dramatically alter your playstyle. Boost core stats, modify ability mechanics, and stack multiple Sins to create unique builds. Die and you lose all Sins and your current inventory, but character progression and crafting materials remain permanent. Reclaim lost loot in future runs at special Points of Interest.

• BUILD YOUR SANCTUARY

  Return to your Underworld base between missions to construct facilities like crafting stations, vendors, and training halls. Rescue survivors from the surface to unlock specialist vendors, questgivers, master crafters, and story progression. Upgrade the artifact itself to extend your surface time and access new content zones.

• HANDCRAFTED WORLD, RANDOMIZED CONTENT

  Explore a fixed geography map featuring burned villages, dark forests, swamps, apocalyptic ruins, and caves. Randomized Points of Interest—structures of a lost civilization and mythical locations—spawn in different configurations each session. Mission variety includes rescue operations, resource gathering, target elimination, zone exploration, and artifact recovery.

• HIGH-STAKES EXTRACTION

  When the artifact expires, the apocalypse returns with a shrinking safe zone centered on your extraction point. You have 5 minutes to reach the elevator before the zone collapses. Outside the zone: continuous damage and endless demon spawns. Successfully extracted loot is safely stored in your permanent stash.

• DEMON HUNTS & BOSS ENCOUNTERS

  Battle roaming monsters during the day, survive demon patrols and hell portals at night, and confront powerful bosses that guard critical zones. Each enemy type requires different tactics—some fear sunlight, others only emerge in darkness, and bosses demand teamwork and preparation to defeat.

• FULL MODDING SUPPORT

  Host dedicated servers with complete customization. Create and share custom character classes, abilities, weapons, Points of Interest, enemy types, boss encounters, mission types, and game rule modifications. Shape NeverLight with your own creations and discover endless content from the community.

• UNFOLDING STORYLINE

  Discover the fate of the Order who fought demons for generations. Progress the story by completing mission chains, rescuing key NPCs, defeating tier bosses, upgrading the artifact to reach new zones, and uncovering lore scattered across the surface. Find survivors, gather what you need, and perhaps find a way to reclaim the world.
